✧ Backstory ✧
The first memory Ashaaryx can tell you about is being nudged awake on the streets of Limsa Lominsa with only a single knapsack of items to his name. The name Ashaaryx Linxasendyr even was merely one scrawled on an envelope among some loose papers such as maps and writs in the knapsack, and he has no way of knowing if this name was ever his.
Fortunately for him, by the grace of the gods, there were many folk that would be willing to take a chance on someone starting anew in Limsa. Though Ashaaryx had no past to speak of, his gracious personality and work ethic endeared him to the community and he found his place among the everyday folk of the port city.
Eventually, he felt secure enough to stand on his own two feet and decided to try and find answers to the gaps in his memory.
Among the belongings, he was found with was a small pendant of Nophica and a letter addressed to the Lancer's Guild guildmaster Ywain. With only those to guide him, he then began his journey at Gridania. . .
✧ Personality ✧
Because he is mute, people tend to mistake Ashaaryx for being shy. While he is quite reserved and often prefers to let others take the spotlight or lead, Ashaaryx is much like an oversized puppy and can get really excited about things he likes. And much like a puppy, he is extremely loyal and even subservient to people he trusts and loves.
There is a naivete to him that can sometimes cross the line to just being straight up gullible, but he always wants to give people the benefit of the doubt and believe the best in them.
He is not easily flustered and is often calm to the point that he seems dense or airheaded, but that's mostly just because he doesn't express himself outwardly as much as most people would.

Are you in need of an adventurer, a friend, or a kind do-good stranger? Ashaaryx can never say no to someone asking for his assistance if they seem like they really need it, no matter how mundane or excessive the task. Neither is it difficult to convince him your really need it.
✧ In the Before Times ✧
Ashaaryx has absolutely no recollection of anything about his life before the Calamity. Although he's accepted that he might never find out, Ashaaryx still can't help but be curious about his past, his heritage (Is he really Qestir?), how or why he was in Limsa Lominsa. Anyone who can provide any information at all would be gods sent.

Mostly because of his penchant for trying to help as many people as he can, there are an excessive amount of people across the realm who have made acquaintances with him and can boast a friendly relationship.

Ashaaryx is a member of The Sleuth House, the Mist's premiere Detective Agency/Bar! Never mind that it is likely the Mists' only Detective Agency/Bar. Although one of the less zany, junior members of the staff, he's very passionate about seeing his Free Company succeed and will do his best as a representative of Sleuth House, however he may!

My name is Alek and I'm Ashaaryx's mun. I've been RPing for a long time, but am still somewhat new to RPing in FFXIV. I haven't quite made as many connections yet, but I hope to make more eventually!

I may be a millennial who's just hit his 30s, but I feel like it is just inappropriate to be roleplaying with minors, regardless of how innocuous the content might be. (Besides, do you wanna be hanging out with a grandpa anyway? :P)
